As a company that takes pride in keeping abreast of new developments within the construction industry, Leeswood is fastidiously observant of client’s evolving needs and readily embraces change to meet them.

We are committed to having leadership in energy and environmental design by providing. in house staff dedicated to LEED, WELL, Fitwel and Sustainable initiatives.

According to Connie Wells, Leeswood’s Director of Sustainability & Environmental Design “Reasons for pursuing LEED certification vary among clients. Some feel it’s the right thing to do; others see the financial long-term benefits and in some cases the government incentives associated with it; and some are driven by their own governing body. Whatever the reason, pursuing LEED shows commitment, legitimacy and marketability.” She goes on to explain, “Sustainability, by definition, is the quality of not being harmful to the environment or depleting natural resources and thereby supporting long-term ecological balance.” The goal of sustainable design is to create high performance buildings that reduce life cycle costs, reduce environmental impacts related to infrastructure, increase employee productivity and increase the efficiency of building operations. LEED takes a holistic approach and ensures that all aspects of the green initiatives work together cohesively. “If the building achieves certification, you can be certain it is sustainable and green.”

The Leeswood team works in tandem with our clients, as its crucial to work directly with the team, during the initial phases of design and budgeting to establish the parameters that will carry through to the  construction and  commissioning/turnover stages
